Living in the bubble/ Att leva i bubblan

Scrolla ner för svensk version!

And then we are there again. At the day when you are so greatful but realy tired, so tired that you just want to cry. The emtiness that you feel. It is indescribable and you know that when you just get home it will get better but now sitting at the airport all by yourself you think your heart is going to break and you have this heavy feeling over your chest and tears in your eyes! This unbelievable feeling of emtiness and when you get home it is as if you live in an other world, andyou realy do! You can tell everyone about what you have done and what has happened during the week but you will never be able to describe the true feeling of being a part of EPF (European Peoples Festival).

During the festival you keep living like in a bubble. Everything else do almost not exist. I can surtanly say that taking part in the EPF is probably the best thing I ever have done. It is realy that big, nothing else can be said. I have gotten a new family and so many wonderful friends and during this years festival I have been thinking that if I never started going to this festivals I would not be the person I am today and I would not have all of this wonderful friends in my life. Of course I would not know then what I would be missing but I know I would be less of a person and human being.

EPF got started 1992 and since then have been going on for one week ever year in the end of July, with exeption for 1995. I have participate since 2003 and I have been going back every year since then. The festival started because of EU and to bring people from different EU countries together. Today we are 14 countries and every year the festival takes place in a different country. This year I have been in Rezekne, Latvia. Taking part in sports and culture activities. I have been taking part in the festival as a representative for the Finnish team but last year and this year I went as a Irish representative. Thank's to this festival I have made friends for life and it is not only the Irish group, though I have chosen to travel with them. It is so many more of the participants that I call my friends. And the spirit trough the festival is a spirit we would need around the world right now. The feeling of belonging together and always being there for each other, it is unbelivable and so pure!

For every year the festival spirit keeps getting better! The more friends I meet and the richer I get. When you are togheter at the festival you do look for the nationalities of the others, but mostly just of curiousity. In the end most often the nationality does not mather. When you are togheter you are all a group and you help and mind each other.
Thank's to this festival I have a place I can travle to in Europe and say I have friends in that place. Within the coming year my plan is to go to Athlone, Ireland; Bad Segeberg, Germany and Schifflange Luxembourg. And I hope I could get some of my friends with me to some of the trips!

I just want to thank you all for making my week so worthwhile. Thank you to, Ireland team, Finnish team, German team, Schottich team, Danish team, Luxembourg team and to so many special individuals for making me feel a part of the festival.
I had the best surprise when friends that I did not think would come to the festival DID come to the festival. Then of course there are every year special friends you will miss that could not come to the festival this year and that is the way it is always going to be! I have been practicing my languages and finaly when I maybe started to find the words a little better it is time to go home!

I still hope to see as many as possible in France next year and hopefully also through out the year and remember if any of you feel the need to travle to Sweden to meet me as well you are more then welcome!

Love you all xxx

Svensk version:

Kram Jessica
